Although the Blackboard server is backed up each night, it is always a good idea to create your own backups of your course sites and/or your gradebook at the end of each semester as a personal record.

Archiving Your Course

  1. Log into Blackboard and proceed into your course site
  2. Click the Control Panel link
  3. Click the Archive Course link under the Course Options heading
  4. Click the Submit button
  5. Right-click your mouse on the provided link and select Save As (or Save As Link if you are using Firefox) to save the archived zip file to a location on your hard drive or network drive
  6. After you have saved your archive file, click the Remove button

You now have an archived copy of your course which contains all course resources, discussion boards, group work, dropbox documents, etc. If you ever need to restore this archived copy of your course, please contact the Teaching and Technology Center at 508.531.2634.
