Linking Library Resources in Blackboard

Adding a PDF Database Article
- Locate the desired article in PDF format on the
Maxwell
Library databases
- Save the PDF file to a desired location (e.g.
your My Documents folder)
- Log into Blackboard and proceed to your course site
- Click the Control Panel link
- Click the Course
Documents link
under the Content Areas heading
- Click the Add Item button
- In the Name field,
type the article name
- Scroll down to the Content section
- Click the Browse button
- Navigate to the location of the PDF file
- Select the PDF file and click the Open button
- In the Name of Link to File: field, type: Click
here for the article
- Scroll down and click the Submit button
Adding an Article from the EBSCO Databases
- Locate the desired article in the EBSCO database
- Click the link to the article title to open the
citation record
- Scroll down to the Persistent Link to
this record: field
- Highlight the persistent link with your mouse.
Right-click your mouse on the link and select Copy from
the menu.
- Log into Blackboard and proceed to your course site
- Click the Control Panel link
- Click the External
Links link
under the Content Areas heading
- Click the Add External Link button
- In the Name: field, type the article name
- In the URL: field, type the following
prefix: http://maxwell.bridgew.edu/login?url=
- Your blinking cursor should remain after the
prefix text. Now right-click your mouse and select
Paste from the menu. The EBSCO
article link should be pasted in directly after
the prefix text
- Scroll down to the Options section
- In the Open in new window field, select Yes
- Click the Submit button
