Monitoring and Reviewing Student Progress
The Manage button, located to the right of each item in Course Documents, Assignments, etc., allows you to review and track the progress of your students' work. Students can indicate when they have reviewed or accessed documents and assignments posted within your Blackboard courses.
Enable Reviewing
- Log into Blackboard and proceed into your course site
- Click the Control Panel button
- Click the link for the Content Area that contains the item you'd
like to enable reviewing on
- Click the Manage button next to the item for which you would like to set up reviewing
- Select Review Status
- Select Enable
- Click the Submit button
- Click the OK button
Students Review Item
- Students log in to your Blackboard course site and access the assignment or handout
- Once students have accessed the assignment or handout, they should click the Mark Reviewed button to acknowledge
that the item has been reviewed. The Mark Reviewed status will change to Reviewed
Monitor Reviewing
Progress can be viewed in two ways:
Performance Dashboard
- Proceed into your Control Panel and click on Performance Dashboard under
the Assessment heading
- Under the Review Status column, you can view how many items have been reviewed. Click on the number for a detailed list
Note: The icon in the View Grades column can be clicked for immediate access to the student’s information in the gradebook.

User Progress Page
- Log into Blackboard and proceed into your course site
- Click the Control Panel link
- Select Content Area

- Click the Manage button next to the item you wish to review
- Select Review Status: User Progress
- A table will display all participants in the course.
The clock icons with checkmarks indicate that the content has been reviewed.
The date of review is listed to the right. When done, click the OK button
