Using the Document Unpackager
Document Unpackager allows a Blackboard instructor to upload multiple items
at once, as well as create a file structure for the content areas outside
of the Blackboard interface.
- Create a new folder on your computer (right-click on the
Desktop and select New > Folder) - or, you may wish to use
a folder that already exists on your computer.
This folder will contain all of the items you wish to upload, as
well as subfolders. For example, you could create a folder titled "Homework"
and have subfolders within it titled "Week 1", Week 2",
etc.
- Once you have loaded all of your materials into the folder, you will
need to compress it ("zip it").
To do so, right-click on the Folder and select Send
To > Compressed (zipped) Folder. Now you should have a zipped folder on your Desktop
- Log into Blackboard and proceed into your course site
- Click the Control
Panel link
- Click the link for the content area you wish to place
your folder (Course
Documents, for
example)
- From the select drop-down menu, select Document
Package
- Click the Go button
- Click the Browse button and locate the zipped folder
